OAKLAND, CA — Today, California Environmental Voters (EnviroVoters) released the following statement in response to President Joe Biden’s decision not to seek reelection.
Statement from Mary Creasman, Chief Executive Officer, California Environmental Voters:
“As the President responsible for conserving more public land than any living president, rejoining the Paris Agreement, and delivering the largest climate and energy package in U.S. history, President Biden solidifies a legacy that will inspire and guide us. We are grateful to President Biden for his unmatched dedication to environmental progress, and while his departure marks the end of an era, it also serves as a powerful rallying cry for Democrats and climate action in November.
The climate progress under the President’s leadership must continue and grow with the next Administration. As Californians continue to face worsening heat, pollution, and extreme wildfires, voters want to elect leaders who have a vision and track record for creating healthy, equitable, and sustainable communities and economies.”

ABOUT CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL VOTERS
California Environmental Voters (formerly the California League of Conservation Voters) believes the climate crisis is here and this moment requires transformative change. California has the policy solutions to stop climate change but lacks the political will to do it at the rate and scale that’s necessary. EnviroVoters exists to build the political power to solve the climate crisis, advance justice, and create a roadmap for global action. We organize voters, elect and train candidates, and hold lawmakers accountable for bold policy change. We won’t stop until we have resilient, healthy, thriving communities, and a democracy and economy that is just and sustainable for all.
