Right now, Trump is leveraging power to regress America back to the days of unrestricted pollution. He’s waging a war against clean energy—the cheapest form of energy—to pad the pockets of Big Oil, Gas, and Coal CEOs at the expense of everyday Americans’ health, wallets, and safety.
But we have power, too—and our power lies in our commitment to doing the right thing, our bonds with each other, and our shared values: to protect our Earth, our future, and our fellow people.
California has a unique responsibility at this moment. We are the fifth largest economy in the entire world. We’re the most populous U.S. state and one of the most diverse. The policies that California implements have massive ripple effects worldwide.
California leads on policies like the Climate Corporate Accountability Act, which will make corporations publicly disclose their greenhouse gas emissions. Californians overwhelmingly supported environmental candidates and the $10 billion climate investment in last year’s election, despite being outspent by Corporate Polluters 20:1. Last year, we protected over 100,000 acres of public land in California. And right now, our legislature is working on the Polluters Pay Climate Superfund Act and energy affordability bills to make California more climate resilient and affordable.
But we’re facing a lot of opposition both nationally and in-state. Trump and his Corporate Polluter cronies are trying to undo decades of climate and clean energy progress we’ve made, which will make America poorer, sicker, and less safe. We’re not going to let that happen without a fight.
For more than 50 years, EnviroVoters has built political power to point elected officials in the right direction to act boldly and with the urgency this crisis requires. We’re pushing for policies that not only reduce emissions but invest in clean air, good jobs, and healthier neighborhoods.

We couldn’t do this work without the dedication of our members. This is a tough fight, but there’s no fight more worthwhile—and with the power of the people behind us, we’re confident that we’ll come out on top.
Thank you for everything, and happy Earth Day from Team EnviroVoters.
